The Covid-19 Pandemic has been hard for everyone. Especially little kids who have been unable to go to school. These children are missing out on so many experiences. Sure. You can learn anything on the Internet today, but a video on the internet can never be compared to a person teaching you in real time. Most importantly, the thing these kids are missing the most is having fun with their friends and classmates.
What might be a solution to this? After school activities are exactly what we need. Activities that teach you skills outside textbooks. Sessions where we give you real-life advice.
Naata Foundation’s latest initiative the After School Club is a series of skill-enhancement
and extracurricular sessions targeted to make this time a little more fun for the kids from low income families. Our Motto and Vision for this initiative is simple - Learning beyond books, Learning beyond the classroom. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be holding 2 sessions each week for the kids from Grades 5-10. These kids have been divided into two groups based on
their age to facilitate optimal learning. These classes are held every Saturday and Friday between11 a.m to 1 p.m. With topics and themes such as Dance and “Brain Jams”, we want each session to be something beneficial for these kids. We want them to have fun and we want to connect with them in a way that is not possible in a normal classroom environment.
We want to cross this big bridge of the whole “Online” situation and make sure that these kids can experience a few hours of joy in this tedious time. We have currently offered this program only in one school, but we hope that it becomes a success and can be adopted into more schools in the future, becoming a permanent part of their curriculum. Like all our other initiatives, everything we do is volunteer based and therefore we always welcome new ideas and new people on board. Therefore, feel free to share your ideas with us and if you want to sign up to teach a skill please be sure to contact us at naatasop@gmail.com or DM us on our Social Media Platforms.
Thanks, Team Naata
