Our pilot project and our first adopted pada is Vanicha Pada located At Unit No 5, Aarey Milk Colony, Goregaon.
Despite being in the midst of a bustling city like Mumbai, till a few years back Vanicha Pada was water, electricity/power & basic infrastructure deficient.
Since 2008,
•We have installed Solar Light Panels at selected points across the village. The patrons for the same were Rotary Club Of Film City Goregaon.
•We have started a Balwadi for educating the village kids who otherwise had no access to a proper education. Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (ONGC), has patronized the Balwadi.
•We have provided the village with basic water supply. Earlier the villagers used to travel for 2 – 3 Kms for fetching water.
•There was no road/ lane to enter the village from the main Aarey Colony road. We have created a proper concrete road from the main road right till the village. The patron for the same was Shri. Sunil Prabhu, our local MLA.
•We started with planting 350+ fruit saplings in the village with and have constantly increased this number by having plantation drives at regular intervals. Our technical partners for the same were Chipko Movement (A Leading Livelihood Protection And Forest & Ecology Conservation Organization).
• We regularly conduct recruitment drives & job placement initiatives for tribal & under privileged youth.
