Naata Foundation's initiatives during COVID-19

Updated: Apr 28, 2021

• So far from day one of the COVID19 national lockdown we have provided more than 10 lakh packets of cooked meals for daily wage workers and homeless people who are jobless due to the pandemic as well as for our villages in Aarey. We also have supported below poverty level families with dry ration. The Naata family is continuing with cooked food distribution to Asisi Bhavan, homeless people under the Western Express Highway bridges, tribal clusters of Aarey colony and many others places in Mumbai as required.

•Through local donation drives, we are also collecting clothes and other necessary items for the poor. We made arrangements for raincoat, umbrella etc for the monsoon and blankets during the winter season.

•Along with local school students, YUVA team, and our friends, we have continued our seed dispersals in 2020 by dividing this activity into smaller groups and over several days.

•All of our slum schools students are at home from school due to the lockdown. But unlike students in wealthier areas, they had no access to online learning. Our current initiative lockdown Digital School is providing these students with tablets and online learning programs so they can continue their education.

This is the time to come together as a nation and help our friends in need. Please stay at home and extend your support financially. As of April 2021, our main focus is food distribution. FYI the cost per meal INR 20 and we provide day and night meals to over 2000 people across Mumbai Western Suburbs on a daily basis. We are hoping to increase our reach and can do that only with your support. No amount is too small. Please donate whatever you can manage.
